Photos and Video of Day 1: Grindelwald and the Jungfraubahn

During the semester break, we first travelled to Switzerland with friends Sandy and Greg, followed by Bavaria and Venice.

On our first day in Grindelwald,Switzerland we took a journey on the Jungfraubahn (Jungfrau train) to the Klein Sheldegg station and then right into the heart of the Eiger.  The Eiger is an imposing mountain that rises 3,000 m (9,800 ft above Grindelwald.  The cogwheel (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) gauge train that climbs through a tunnel blasted into the mountain over a hundred years ago to a col (Jungfraujoch - 3,454 m between the Bernese Oberland and Valais). Most amazing are the two stations in the middle of the mountain with giant windows that look out over the north face of the Eiger, one of the most dangerous climbing routes in the Swiss Alps.

Amazing doesn't begin to describe...
